Shift+F5 definitely works in Word 2010. Is there a setting in Word 2007
that disables it?

Shift F5 is broken in Word 2007. The only workaround I know of involves
putting a macro in the document. My Word is set to disable macros in
documents as a default, and if anyone you send a document to is using
the same default, the fix won't work for them.
