ANN: New Poll on TECHWR-L: "How do you approach localization?"
Thanks to Bill Swallow, we've got a new poll up on the site. Take
a look and register your opinion at http://www.techwr-l.com/
How do you approach localization?
* We don't localize our documentation.
* We are authoring and will send it out to bid as-is when we're
ready for translation.
* We have translation memory of our previous projects and send
that to localizers with the updated/new content.
* We manage localization in-house; outsource the actual translation
and do all the pre/post work and project management ourselves.
* We have a trusted partner who handles all of our localization
needs. We send jobs to them and they send finished ones back.
* We work with a trusted partner throughout the project life cycle
in support of simultaneous language release.
* No idea how it's done but we do localize our products and/or
documentation.
