For MS Word, has anyone ever taken a collectgion of words and turned
them into a dictionary that would mark words as mis-spelling even if
the word was spelt correctly but not in the customer dictionary?

I think what would work is to add the words to the Exclude Dictionary. Googling for that leads to the following seemingly-useful explanations:

* http://www.patenttechtips.org/2008/09/03/exclude-dictionary-part-1-using-the-exclude-dictionary-to-prevent-patent-profanity/ - It says, "Words contained within the exclude dictionary are marked as though they are misspelled even though the word is in the standard spell checking dictionary."
