Hi, all.

I have Windows 7 and I repeatedly confuse the Outlook and Windows Explorers icons in the task bar. They use similar shades of yellow and I have to really stare at them to recognize which is which.

I know HOW to replace the icon, but I don't like the alternate icons Windows provides.

I see plenty of icon libraries online, but I am hesitant to download any -- they seem like prime sources of malware. Although my system is protected, I still don't want to make an unwise move.

Can you recommend a safe source of free icons? Or, can you recommend a Windows 7-compatible icon editor? I see some on CNET and will go this route if I have to.

But one good, non-yellow, free icon will solve my problem . . .

Since I can see how some might consider this post to be off topic , I hereby make the case that this post IS on topic because these tools are central to my existence as a tech writer. And I can't write well when I am constantly ticked off when I open the wrong application because I can't tell the icons apart.

Thanks for all suggestions!
