I've worked with folks like that. That sort of profile usually works well
with a formulaic approach that has a series of input filters in the form of
questions or sequential categorization.

You might want to take a look at information mapping. They have a short
training course, and their information typing approach has been emulated a
lot in recent years by many architectures who either don't give them credit,
or don't realize the fact.
