I use the Iron browser by SRWare. It's the Chrome browser stripped of all the functions that require Chrome to send your your browsing and configuration information to Google. Iron hardly ever crashes, though some sites can lock it up as with all browsers, so my guess is that whatever's causeing your crashes is related to one of those.

IE9 is vastly improved, but for those of us curmudgeons who still haven't upgraded all our systems from XP, it's not universally available.

I don't have a specific answer, but I can tell you that of late Chrome has crashed on me so frequently that I have uninstalled it. I am running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on an AMD quad-core with 6 GB of RAM and Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on an AMD tri-core with 4 GB of RAM. Google has a great search engine and good analytics; everything else seems to be mediocre or worse.

A quote from my 17 year old: Internet Explorer is faster, more secure, and more reliable than Google Chrome (or Firefox?); what is the world coming to?
