TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I used to use and love Copernic years ago and have since forgotten about
it. Thanks for the reminder.
*FYI*
If anyone is only interested in indexing file names (just file names and
not content), there is an incredibly fast, free, and capable tool called
Everything (located here: http://www.voidtools.com/). Tested, it will will
one-time full index 4.5 million files across two local drives and three
local network paths in less than 20 minutes (much less time if your files
are all local). Once indexed, it will watch for changes, in the background,
with no noticeable degradation to either computer or network.
The best part, searches [supports Boolean] are always up-to-date and
instant! This tool also has a remarkably small footprint (under 1MB).
