Word 2013: Author variable

I'm creating a template and would like Word to populate an {Author} field.
Right nowâusing that variableâWord fills the field as *name -at- company -dot- com
<name -at- company -dot- com>*.

I'd prefer to populate the field (the first time a doc is saved from the
template) with the *User name* data, e.g., Forrest Gump. Once the field is
filled (by way of the first Save), I want the field to be fixed with that
