I should have added that the filing schedule is standard for quarterlies.
You file the returns on the month following the end of the quarter.

Get TurboTax Home & Business. It will help you figure out how much to pay in
estimated taxes to avoid penalties. There are lots of potential deductions
for 1099 income that are not available for W-2 income.

The forms are 1040-ES and 540-ES. The filing schedule is peculiar:
April, June, September, January.
