By that reasoning, there should be no tech writers working in Silicon
Valley or San Francisco, or in the USA at all, but actually it's a
seller's market right now in Northern California. Companies like to
have writers on site, and there are more experienced writers where the
industry is concentrated. Per salary.com, median salary for a tech
writer IV in San Francisco is $113,898, in Boston $100,737.
