In my real world, there are also HW products, so there is no help inside the product. The documentation comes separately. Also, our target audience may not have Internet access where the equipment is located or in the NOC (due to security reasons).

In the real world, there's still a lot of installed software with embedded online help. Once that ships and a customer installs it, the help doesn't get updated until they choose to install a later release.
