Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the PNGs to be crisp even when sized smaller than their actual size on screen?

Well, after fiddling around with the several inter-related settings, here's what seems to work the best for *my* system. I'm not clear whether Snagit assumes that I'm capturing images on a retina display. My guess is that it is assuming that because I'm using a Mac. But my external monitor is a high-res (30") Dell, not a retina display.

So in the Snagit Preferences (which apply to all the capture profiles), I cleared (de-selected) the "Scale down retina images when sharing" option, and cleared the "Keep original image dimensions" option".

Likely this isn't useful to many people; everything about image capture and Snagit seems to need to be extremely customized.
