I realise I'm late to this, but I was once employed as a Web Content Editor on a contract basis despite being a Technical Writer for most of my career. When I left that role the recruitment agency looking for my replacement phoned me to ask for some help in drafting the ad. Based on what I told them they advertised the Web Content Editor role as a Technical Writer role, causing some confusion and frustration in at least one of the applicants who made it to interview. Something similar could have happened here.
