"OPERATING YOUR ENVIRONMENT"
STC Lone Star Chapter 1994 Winter Seminar and Competition Awards Banquet
Sheraton Grand Hotel
4440 W. John Carpenter Freeway
Irving, Texas
January 14-15, 1994

STC Lone Star Chapter, serving the Dallas/Fort Worth area of North Texas,
will hold its 1994 Winter Seminar and Competition Awards Banquet at the
Sheraton Grand Hotel, 4440 West John Carpenter Freeway (Highway 114 and
Esters Boulevard), Irving, Texas, January 14-15, 1994.

1994 Winter Seminar
The 1994 Winter Seminar theme "Operating Your Environment" was inspired by
STC Lone Star Chapter members' concern for three environments: the Natural
Environment, the Business Environment, and the Technical Environment. The
seminar starts on Friday, January 14, and continues through Saturday,
January 15.

As technical communicators, we are challenged by the natural environment.
We seek ways to conserve resources in our paper-based work, to manage the
office environment for improved health, and to communicate environmental
information to others.

In our business environment, we constantly seek better ways of working with
others and improving the quality of the products we deliver.

In our technical environment, new technology continually pulls us forward.
Yet, we most hone an old tool, language, for clarity in communications.

"Operating Your Environment" provides two keynote addresses and 18
different seminars--six on each of the three tracks. Attending the two-day
Winter Seminar will give you the information you need to operate your
environment during 1994 and beyond.

Competition Awards Banquet
Awards for the winning entries in the STC Lone Star Chapter Technical
Publications, Art, and Electronic Documentation Competitions will be
presented at 8:00 pm on Friday, January 14. A vendor exhibit area will be
open and the competition entries will be displayed from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.
