page breaks

Subject: page breaks

We have differing opinions in my office and I'd like to hear from this group.
When do you force page breaks in a technical (printed) manual?

This is one of those issues I'm faced with almost daily as either a
writer or editor and I have to rely on experience rather than a style guide
for direction. Of course I know "it depends." Please answer in a generic
sense if possible. Thanks.
