I don't know if any of you have ever had trouble seeing the default-green color
of hotspots (cheap monitors can make it almost invisible!)--but I have with
different brands of equipment. I've found a good utility for changing the color
of hotspots (jumps, popups, etc.) in help, and I add a jump to it from all my
online help files. It's especially useful for my company's software product,
because our product is used by field sales reps who run it on laptops (which can
have really crappy monitors). Plus, color-blind users can use it to change the
hotspots to a color they can see.

I didn't write the utility--it was freeware that a tech writer friend of mine
scooped off of Compuserve. I contacted the guy who wrote it, and he said he
didn't mind if I bundled it with my stuff as long as my company wasn't making a
profit from it (that is, that we weren't charging any more for our product just
because it included this utility). If anybody wants more info, I can dig it up
and post it to the list.
