One more good example of the Failure of Apple Marketing. Mac's were doing speech
synthesis ten years ago (anyone remember the Talking Moose?) and were also the
first of the desktop machines to do speech recognition (not ten, but still years
ago, with Voice Navigator and similar products). Yet most folks still link
Compaq in particular and PC's in general with both these functions, and consider
them relatively new developments in desktop machines.
