Dan,

I have used Doc To Help to index without too much trouble. I think
your problem lies in the fact that your file is TOO Large. I rarely
let my Word files exceed 50 pages. For Doc To Help, I try to keep
them even smaller.

Indexing in Doc To Help is the most memory intensive function. If you
only have 16 meg of memory or less, you may need to split your file
into multiple chapters. You will need to change your project settings
to reflect the fact that your project is now multi-file.

I recommend splitting your file into multiple chapters--it will not
only allow you to complete your index, but it will also enable you to
generate your RTF files without trouble. If you are having memory
trouble while indexing, you will have it again when you generate your
RTF's.

Also, try any tricks that you know of to increase your machine's
memory--close all other apps., log off the network, etc.

Good Luck!
Brian
