Thanks to all who replied to my questions about importing/opening
Word documents in FrameMaker. I finally DID find the filter via FTP
but this morning I also received the reply echoed below from
FrameMaker. I thought it might be useful to post the Frame reply to
this list.(I received permission from the sender to do so!) since so
many people were interested in this problem.

Many thanks to all,

Jane Bergen

REPLY FROM FRAME:

I'm sorry that you are having problems. While FrameMaker release 5 does
include a Word 6 filter, we found problems in the filter soon after
FrameMaker release 5 began shipping. An updated filter is available on
our ftp site:

site: ftp.frame.com
login: anonymous
file: /usr/techsup/product_udates/dos/w6-fm5.zip

Also, a minor update to FrameMaker release 5 is also available
(maker501.zip). You might find this update helpful.

Thank you for your interest in Frame Products. Your questions and comments
are very valuable to us. If I can be of any further assistance with
this particular question, please contact me directly. Please direct
general questions and comments about Frame and its products to:
