invites submissions for a special issue on
Technical Communication Studies

Computers and Composition: An International Journal for=20
Teachers of Writing will publish a special issue on technical=20
communication studies-=D1issue 14.3, December 1997. The guest=20
editor for this special issue seeks original contributions=20
employing a wide range of research methodologies, including=20
rhetorical, theoretical, empirical, and historical. Papers=20
should discuss computer-related pedagogical and programmatic=20
issues of specific interest to technical communication=20
teachers, program directors, and educators in workplace=20
settings. Topics include, but are not limited to, the=20
following broad areas:

=09pedagogical and theoretical frameworks for teaching=20
=09about and with computers in technical communication=20
=09instructional contexts

=09innovative classroom practices and projects in=20
=09technical communication, including their=20
=09complications

=09technical communication curricula and course=20
=09designs that balance practice and theory and/or=20
=09production, literacy, and humanistic concerns

=09instructional issues and strategies relating to=20
=09technical communication and computer networks,=20
=09computer conferencing, electronic mail, the World=20
=09Wide Web, hypertext, multimedia authoring, MUDs and=20
=09MOOs, and distance learning
