Does anybody know where I can get ahold of this survey (especially
Canadian figures)?

I'd like to provide some hard numbers for this debate.
Based on the 1995 U.S. salary survey by STC:

Mean wage: $41,986 for women vs. $43,637 for men.
Difference: less than $1700.
Interestingly, the difference is lowest at the low end of
the salary range (entry level?), and is in favor of women,
and greatest at the upper end ($55,220 vs. $60,000) in
favor of men. The "glass ceiling" effect?

The Canadian gaps are larger across the board in favor of
men, but neither in Canada nor the U.S. are they anywhere
near as dramatic as in other professions. It's not perfect
yet, but getting there slowly.
