I would suggest that the most likely reason for atrocities like "to
architect" is ignorance and that the second most likely reason is a desire
to be different.

I feel that the au would do better to not write and let us suspect (s)he is
ignorant, or to employ an amanuensis to revise whatever (s)he produces.
