Hello. I'm a freelance writer, new to this list. Mostly I write PR and
marketing material for clients, poetry for myself. From time to time I
pick up some technical writing work. In response to Michael B., I've
always thought that anyone with a good knowledge of language, and the
ability to grasp technical material and then translate it for general
readership could be a technical writer. Am I way off base here? What
kind of training is available for technical writer wannabees?

Thanks,

Lynda Fleet
