Human Factors Engineering

Irvine, CA. -- Up-to-date information is a must to keep up with today's
fast paced technology. Do human concepts of sensation, perception, learning,
memory, problem solving and accessing information have anything to do with
technical writing? You bet! The September 17 OCSTC meeting will feature
Marlana Coe, President of Coe Communications and author of Human Factors for
Technical Communicators, who will discuss the psychological implications of
how we humans perceive.
Marlana will discuss human factors from a cognitive psychological point of
view and show us how cognitive psychology can make a huge difference in the
information we structure and provide to our users. During this fun filled
evening she will guide us through the concepts of human factors engineering
as we respond to answers with questions. Come and participate in this
exciting meeting. You might even win a prize!

To make a reservation for this outstanding meeting, call (714) 863-7666. The
meeting will be held at the Marriott Hotel, 18000 Von Karmen Ave., Irvine on
Von Karmen Ave. at the 405 in Irvine on September 17, 1996 from 6:30 AM to
9:00 PM. $18 Members with reservations (no shows will be charged $10),
walk-ins $25, and $20 Nonmembers.
