ISO is an international standard or guideline that companies are following
in the design and manufacture of goods. To be certified is becoming a
requirement to do business with a lot of international companies.
Many companies employ technical writers to write ISO documents.
These documents consist of writing the policies, procedures and
processes within each department that is affected by the manufacturing
process per ISO guidelines. (not an official description)
This allows the opportunity to interact with many departments throughout
your organization, you can be a role player in changing ineffective
processes, and write for a different audience. There are further career
opportunities in the Quality Assurance department or as an Auditor.
