From my own experience I can agree with this wholeheartedly. Discipline,
professionalism and dedication are not things taught at college, and
shouldn't be considered natural attributes of a graduate. Nor does the
higher education system monopolise mental ability the way it monopolises
intellectual posturing.

Universities, and the class of graduates, surely contain a mixture of
slacking and seriousness fairly similar to the rest of the world.
