A position is available in the Information Development and Design unit
for
an enthusiastic, team oriented, lateral thinker, to spearhead the
development and introduction of a comprehensive online information
delivery
strategy for Tivoli Systems, Inc. The role will be based in Austin.

Position Summary
To develop and implement a comprehensive, up-to-date help system with a
full set of features (such as table of contents, comprehensive indexing,
searching capabilities, enhanced printing capabilities, access
to FAQs) with the most effective user-centric solution.

To provide a single source, cross platform method of creating and
distributing both online and context-sensitive materials with Tivoli
products.

To ease the task of developing online materials for multiple platforms
and
multiple languages for the creation of online help content and its
display.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Tivoli's strategies for online help, smart
guides,
wizards and other online strategies which delivers user centric
information
- Develop and maintain an online product knowledge base which reduces
support calls
- Develop and maintain an online information delivery system working
with
customer support and the UI group
- Participate in the development of an ongoing customer feedback program
for information development
- Coordinate online document testing for suitable design, usability and
functionality
- Support localization, consistency, tool selection, style, production
and
translation issues
- Work with information developers, project and development managers,
and
senior managers, to increase their knowledge and understanding of online
issues
- Develop processes in conjunction with Raleigh and Rome to support a
worldwide release of products
- Track industry trends, such as developing standards (HTML Help, Net
Help,
Java Help, etc.) and what these trends/developments mean to Tivoli?s
online
document development.
- Evaluate 3rd party tools as they relate to Tivoli?s online document
development.
- Work with consultants to develop the best strategy forward for
usability.

Requirements
- Extensive usability experience, incorporating tools knowledge and the
development of online strategies
- Project management experience, incorporating managing cross-functional
teams and budget management
- Appropriate university degree (for example, Communication, Computer
Science, Usability Engineering)
- Ability to work with a team to develop best solutions
