Hyperion Software is seeking a Localization Project Manager and a
Localization Coordinator in its Stamford, CT. headquarters. The job
descriptions are as follows:

Localization Project Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsibility for helping establish a true translation methodology
through compliance with the Hyperion Core Product Development Lifecycle.
- Work with Product Marketing to determine localization requirements and
deliverables.
- Work closely with localization vendor to negotiate pricing, file delivery
and testing for all localization projects.
- Must work with all project teams to ensure localization is a part of
every project plan. Helping to ensure that localization efforts are
outlined clearly in Programming, QA and Documentation plans/schedules.
- Responsible for working closely with project teams to plan, coordinate
and organize files to be translated.
- Oversee final delivery of localization files to vendor.
- Maintain and track localization budget. Also, forecast number for next
fiscal year.
- Keep accurate records regarding the files delivered to the translation
vendor. Maintaining/archiving copies of the files in each delivery for
reference.
- Work with development project teams to provide QA confirmation on the
translate files returned from the vendor.
- Primary contact for localization vendor.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5+ years project management experience
- Proven leadership ability
- Excellent decision making ability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Must be team player
- Must have a clear understanding of development process, including design,
programming and quality assurance through the practice of a solid
methodology
- Knowledge of Windows-based products a must
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Previous experience maintaining and tracking large departmental budgets a
must
- Previous localization experience a must
- Multi-language experience a plus

Localization Coordinator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Gather information on Hyperion documentation projects from Documentation
managers.
- Perform technical duties, including locating and delivering files and
hard copies to the localization vendor. Coordinating the files to be
translated for each project, including file names, file types, description
of file, status of file (i.e. date last revised) and translation status.
- Providing word counts of all documentation estimates.
- Performing any customization of file content for localization, for
example, deleting conceptual test and leaving only procedures - reindexing
if required.
- Keep accurate records regarding the files delivered to the translation
vendor. Maintaining copies of the files in each delivery for reference.
- Perform administrative duties, including tracking files delivered to the
localization vendor; work with Product Marketing to determine localization
deliverables: HLP file, PDF file, printed copies and cover.
- Maintain a spreadsheet listing deliverables for Localization for
Hyperion, including: product code, product description, document title,
document version, languages into which deliverable will be translated,
deliverables (including help file, pdf file, printed version, cover)
- Perform QA confirmation on the translated files returned from the vendor
- Answer questions from the localization vendor regarding fonts, print
formats, indexing, terminology, etc.
- Coordinate printing, including cover art, talk to printers, determine
order quantities
- Provide translated files to programming for inclusion with localized
build.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent project management skills
- Minimum 3+ years documentation experience.
- Must be familiar with a documentation process.
- Good online help skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player
- Understanding of development process, including design, programming, and
quality assurance
- Writing for windows-based products a plus.
- Familiarity with RoboHelp or other help tool a plus
- FrameMaker experience a plus.
