One really good point someone made
over the recent debate over the
future of tech. writing...

the person spoke of change
or rather the ability to change.
"Change" is often mentioned
in "learning" definitions.

People (not age dependent)
who are willing to change and learn
will be valued members of a tech.
writing staff.

Daryl Conner, in his book, _Managing at the Speed of
Change_, offers this insight, "People can only change
when they have the capacity to do so. Ability means
having the necessary skills and knowing how to use
them. Willingness is the motivation to apply those
skills to a particular situation. If you lack either
ability
or willingness, it is unlikely that you will
successfully
adapt to a change." (1995, p. 127)
