Non-standard font...The Conclusion

Colleagues:

Thanks to all of you who responded to my posting yesterday regarding the
use of the Brush Script font and superscripting for the product name in
the manual text. Much of what you said confirmed my opinion and gave me
support that I was able to take to the marketing manager.

The manager has relented somewhat and will accept excluding the Brush
Script font but still wants the superscripted "32" at the end of the
product name. I told this person that I thought I could likely use a
smaller point size in the superscript so as to avoid major problems with
leading. (Or, as Fred Ridder said, the "coloring" problem. Thanks,
Fred.)

Of course, resolving these kinds of issues is always a dicey situation
at best. I'm only glad that I could find some way to continue to meet
the two goals I always have--Achieving the objectives of the
organization, and meeting the needs of those people who have to actually
use our products and the documentation I provide them.

Thanks again for your assistance. I'll now turn over the bandwidth to
some other soul with similar challenges.

Regards,

Tom Herme
