Ok, kiddies...here's one for you. (sigh)
I'm documenting a process that requires the reader to copy a row from a Microsoft Access 2.0 macro screen to another screen using ctrl-c (copy) and ctrl-p (paste).
The screen contains three columns plus a little gray column to the left of the first data column. However, to select the complete row, I must click on the little gray column to the left of the first data column. I cannot highlight multiple columns by dragging the mouse across the column. It only highlights the contents of the first column.
What is that little gray column called? When I put my cursor in that column and select the row, it gets marked with a little triangle and the entire row turns reverse video.
I checked the MS Manual of Style and they don't have it listed.
