The term *mentoring* is usually used in place of apprenticeship (or its
concept) in corporate circles, especially for the white collar careers
(technical writing, programming, etc.). But the same principles apply.
Usually, interns or *newbies* are paired with senior members to learn
the nuances of a trade or profession (that is, to learn the things you
cannot learn in school or a class).
