This may justify the decision by many managers to use the "temp-to-perm"
policy discussed on another thread.

I entirely agree with those that suggested that you use your time to really
learn the tools you are using and the tools most likely to replace them. To
be "clueless" in a meeting is crazy. Don't they allow you or others to ask
questions? Often the "newbie" asks the question that blows the team's basic
assumption wide open.

Do you take notes at the meetings? Have you tried to get to know the SMEs
that go to the meetings?

Much of Tech Writing is an investigation to find who knows what and then
picking their brains and writing it up. It just isn't as glamorous to say
that you are a tech writer instead of "investigative journalist" but the
principles are pretty much the same.
