Yes, but my one and only experience using this feature wasn't very
successful. The embedded fonts appeared on the screen but they didn't print
if the fonts weren't installed on the system.

To try this for yourself, the option is under the Save tab in the
Tool/Options menu. Check "Embed TrueType fonts."

Outside of forcing page breaks and leaving extra space at the bottom of
each page, I don't have a solution. It's awkward and time consuming.

I think that PDF is your best bet. The Acrobat Reader also has the
advantage of being familier to many of users. I'm not sure you can say the
same about the Word Viewer. I know that convincing management may be an up
hill battle.
