Wow. Big job ahead.

Get your prez and marketing person to read:

*The High-Tech Marketing Companion, Dee Kiamy

*Crossing the Chasm: Marketing and Selling High-Tech Products to Mainstream
Customers, Geoffrey A. Moore

*Inside the Tornado: Marketing Strategies from Silicon Valley's Cutting
Edge, Geoffrey A. Moore.

You might get "Writing High-Tech Copy that Sells", by Janice King, which is
very helpful for planning an overall communication strategy as well as for
writing strong copy.

I've read all or part of all these and found them incredibly valuable. They
are all available at Amazon, if not in a local bookstore.

A book that might be helpful about the whole development process is "Rapid
Development", which is maybe geared for the technical side, and the
"Software Project Survival Guide", which is geared for management. Both
books are by Steve McConnell and well respected. "Rapid Development" is
considered by many to be a bible.

Also, do a search on Amazon for marketing software or software development,
and you're bound to get a long list.
