Incidentally, Eric, myself and others hold numerous "phantom" accounts
on this list. To be blunt, you cannot stop these message by merely
kicking me and my colleagues off. We can sign up a virtually unlimited
number of "phantom" accounts due to the way this list is structured.

I'm gonna stamp my feet an hold my breath an turn blue and die. And then

Printing Plates

I have been working with a client on a directory publication. It's to be
bound on trimmed A4 after printing as 16 page signatures. Black only. It
contains between 0 and 2 b&w photographic images per page, and most of the
type is set 8/9.5 (very dry specification stuff). Initial print run is
3000 copies on 80gsm semi gloss stock.

What experience have you people had with:

1. paper plates,

2. plastic/polymer plates,

from the standpoint of:

a. cost,

b. printing glitches (torn/damaged plates, missfeeds, etc.)

c. image reproduction?

I ask this question here because this list represents probably the largest
single group of people dealing with printed output. Reply directly and
I'll summarize to the list.
