Hallo:

I use SoftQuad's HoTMetaL Pro v5 patch3 (http://www.sq.com). If you can
forgive a very buggy initial release, the software is easy to use in
WYSIWYG, tags, and code view. Downloading the patches is a must.

I also use FrontPage 98 (http://www.m... you know this one ;?). However,
other HTML tools, such as HoTMetaL, choke on the proprietary FrontPage
extensions. For a FP web server, however, these things are great. Know
the strengths and weaknesses and work with them. No whining.

I also use Notepad. Believe it or not, this is a very fast and robust
way to generate code <vbg>. It's also light and does not crash often
(stay away from RTF tools that might insert unwanted code).

I want Dreamweaver 2.0, and will get it soon, I hope ($$$ but I know
I'll get what I pay for).

Creating web pages is not a single-tool issue for me, but neither is any
tech writing. Single-source do-it-all document creation is as much a
myth as the paperless office--trust me, there'll be paperless offices
only after we run out of trees, and then we'll have other problems ;?(.

BTW, I find FrameMaker's HTML conversion to be a very flawed but quick
way to create a rough draft of an HTML layout of a document. However, I
prefer to distribute via PDF than HTML because of the organizational
mess created by HTML.
