Once again, Paul, I think you didn't read far enough. At the bottom of the
page, it clearly says:

"Note: You will be able to download Acrobat Reader 4.0 with
search when available."

The CD-ROM version is a real convenience for large shops that are producing
materials for many different language markets. If you prefer, you'll be able
to download the English only version of Reader + Search. All that's happened
here is that the 4.0 version of Reader + Search is running a little behind
schedule, and Adobe decided not to hold up the entire 4.0 release on account
of that. Does that really merit a full-fledged rant? ;)
