To extend this a bit -- if you end up with only one appendix for a book, you
wouldn't call it Appendix A? Just call it Appendix?

Remember elementary school when we first learned to outline? 'Never put a 1
without a 2, never put an "A" without a "B".' Even if we understand what we
mean, our audience may not.
