To all:

1) You might try Nolo Press (I believe they are located in Oregon).

They have a lot of 'small business' oriented information.

They are the first place that I thought of to answer your question.

2) You might want to also visit the websites for the following:

a) Small Business Administration (U.S. Govt) (I think it is
<< http://www.sba.gov >>
b) Entrepreneur Magazine (not sure of URL)
c) The STC website might have some information about contracts,
agreements such as you are contemplating.

3) You might contact your local library.

a) You could talk to the research librarian. (He/she) could steer
you in the right direction.
b) Look in your library's online catalog for: consulting, agreements,
own business, self-employed. I have done so and have found a
large number of 'agreements', contracts', etc., that way.

4) You might also contact your personal lawyer. (He/she) should be able
to assist you in finding this information. In any case, your personal
lawyer should review ANY document.

I have some of this type of information on my PC at home, but obviously
not here on this contract.

I hope that this will help. you and the other tech-whirlers reading this.

I'm hoping that someone may have a contract, agreement, subcontract, etc.
type of form that can be used for an agreement regarding a
writing/editing job between a freelance tech writer/editor and an individual
client. I have not been asked for this before, but the individual is
insecure about
providing partial payment up front without some kind of formal agreement,
which I can understand. It's beneficial to me, too, actually.

If you could forward anything like this to me, or tell me of a
website that might have such a form (I haven't found one yet, although I
have
HAVE found lease agreements, etc.), I'd sincerely appreciate it.
