I like John's answer, and I think it could work as a last resort :-)

But you're doing the right thing in copying your boss on every message.
Though I would work with your boss and your IT group to give Boss a new
email ID dedicated to these messages, so they don't clutter up their
inbox (alternately, you may be able to create a filter where any
messages from you to Eng. Mgr. and cc'd to Boss automatically go in a
separate folder).

So why am I responding???

What is missing from the equation so far is action by your boss - Boss
needs to talk the the Eng. Mgr Director and get Director to quell the
Eng. Mgr. You apparently have ample evidence that the other 4 Eng Mgrs.
like you and your work, so it really is just this mgr. Director needs to
know that Eng. Mgr. is screwing up.

It is your boss' job to talk to their counterpart about this. It is your
job to get your boss to do so.

And I've been in your situation, though as a financial analyst, not as a
writer, and I survived and actually won my case. That was in a Very
Large Bank. So it can be done.
