How realistic is it to expect to make a steady and good living (say $60k
Cdn) as a contractor in Vancouver, Canada?

I have 5 years of experience in documentation --- both print and online,
mostly in software.

I love change and challenge. Even though I love each job I've had, I
typically find myself pondering different options after only a year on the
job.

I would like to learn from others who contract or have contracted in
Vancouver.

Thanks.
Salan
