Oh well, guess it's just another Word "feature"... :)

Everybody just seems to have keyboard workarounds for this, although one
poster mentioned that I can slow down my mouse for my whole computer using
the Control Panel on my PC. But I only have this problem in Word, and
don't want to turn the rest of my apps into molasses.

The keyboard tricks work great; I'm probably just a little too
mouse-oriented from doing graphics work. Maybe this old dog can learn...

PS - At the risk of being assaulted by Tool Tyrants, I must admit I
actually LIKE Word. Once you learn what it can and cannot do, and how it
does it, it's a powerful and stable tool. There, I said it. Today will
probably live in infamy.
