Has anyone ever thought about, pursued or discussed the creation of a
technical writing union as a way of standardizing the technical writing
profession? My knowledge of unions would not fill a thimble, but it occurred
to me that a union might help in some areas where some in our professional
feel STC does not help. I know that you cannot be a government worker and
be in a union, but not all technical writers work for the government.
