* Kelley did say that she and her CEO would filter out people who "chose"
to be contractors, so list-members who had contracting thrust upon them are
NOT the target of Kelley's discrimination.
* I, like several others think Kelley and her CEO are at least naive in
thinking they will get loyalty ONLY from staffers. I too am a contractor by
choice, and have often noted a CYA attitude and lack of either initiative or
courage in staffers. It is my impression that some staffers FEIGN loyalty
* I also agree with those who point out that contractors manage their own
businesses, which can be as challenging as managing a department.
* I think that Kelley revealed the key to her position in this phrase from
an early post:
> We have to settle on some first-principles to begin with. What I've read
The key word here is "read". Kelley, I think you need to acquire some
*direct experience* of working with contractors before you hold forth like
you have. The same may apply to your CEO. And I caution you against simply
accepting his word on this issue; how much is that based on real experience?
* To the person who regretted a flame war: this ain't nothin' but a
skirmish...it'll soon be over.
