I feel like I'm jinxing things for my contracting friends, but rates in Kansas City are still between $40-60 hour for straight technical writing, no development skills, &c. We've also had a number of new opportunities show up on the STC Web site. Yes, rates are down and opportunities are definitely not abundant, but it's not as bad as it was last quarter.
