A few weeks ago, there was a thread about second generation technical
writers.
Last night, my six year old son put together a "contraption" (a box, cup,
his GI Joe helmet, tiny toy soldiers, and a bamboo spear ). When he was
done, he asked for a blank piece of paper. Twenty minutes later he presented
me with his "instructions" for putting together his contraption.

Tak cup
Poot cup on the box
etc...

He even drew illustrations. He was very proud of himself, and when I
reminded him that writing instructions is what Mom does at work, he smugly
said "I know".
