Hi,

Bryan asked if there were any other lone writers working for large
corporations out there.

I fall into that category. I work for a division of a large
telecommunications company, with offices in every area in Ireland.

When I started this job (my first as a technical writer), I was the first
and only technical writer in my division (of about 250 people). As you can
imagine, there was a lot to do - not only in writing system documentation
(for all our systems!) but also in educating people on what I do, why it is
needed and how I go about it.

Now, almost 18 months later, people are beginning to see the benefits and I
am getting far more interesting and challenging projects.

Cheers,
Sarah
