I've thought about joining that SIG before, but I guess I just always assumed that it was for people who were the only writer where they worked. Anyway, I just e-mailed the SIG manager for information on how to join mid-year (since I've already sent in my STC dues this year).

Met a fellow at an STC conference planning session last night who is talking
about a meeting, fac-to-face, of the Lone Writer SIG within STC. If you know
about the group, great. If not (and you are an STC member) you can find the
SIG information at www.stc.org.
