The boss came across some nifty utilities that should help folks who have to
regularly grapple with MS Powerpoint. Head over to the following Web site:

The "optimizer" tool looks particularly interesting. We've played with it a
bit here at FERIC, and it seems to do a great job of crunching down PP files
to a reasonable size with minimal loss of graphics quality on the first
go-round. Of course, the optimizer works best if you were careless in how
you inserted graphics into the file. Worth a look!

"With Linux, customers end up being in the operating systems business,
managing software updates and security patches while making sure the
multitude of software packages don't conflict with each other."--Microsoft
spokesperson in a News.com article

"And just how would that be different from Windows?"--Adam Engst, TidBITS
